Employee Spotlight: Meet Ashley

Ashley has been a Paycom sales representative since October 2016. Recently, I reached out and asked her to share her story.

 Describe what you do.

I meet with and analyze the processes of organizations in numerous industries in order to create an optimal workflow for their HR department, and ultimately increase the value of the business as a whole.

What advice would you give a new employee for being successful at Paycom?

Get comfortable with being uncomfortable! Be prepared for the most rewarding challenge, both professionally and personally. You are constantly testing your limits mentally and getting to see how truly capable you are. And lastly, no situation is ever a loss here; it’s simply a learning experience that will give you the opportunity to make you and your team better.

What’s the one word you would choose to describe Paycom, and why?

“Dedicated.” At every level and department of the company, I see so much dedication to strive for greatness. We are all working toward a similar goal and are all motivated by the opportunity we have at Paycom.

What is your greatest accomplishment at Paycom?

Meeting quota in 2017, and, in turn, gaining a new sense of confidence.

What makes you proud to work at Paycom?

The tremendous growth of Paycom quarter over quarter makes me proudest! I love when anyone asks about Paycom or how our stock is going – I get to have ultimate bragging rights.

Where has been your favorite place to travel, and why?

Arusha, Tanzania. I spent a month there, and that time permanently changed my perspective on how I live out my life. The simplest thing – I’m talking as simple as brushing our teeth with a toothbrush – is something we take for granted and is such a luxury elsewhere. I loved seeing joyful faces every day in the midst of a place we would see as extreme poverty.

What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of work?

Board games, hiking, snowboarding … and wine and cheese, please!

If you could wake up tomorrow having gained one quality or ability, what would it be and why?

To read people’s minds! I would do just about anything to know what’s going on in my prospect’s brain sometimes.
