Employee Spotlight: Meet Michael

Michael has been a Paycom sales representative since March 2017. Recently, I reached out and asked him to share his story.

 Describe what you do.

As a sales rep, I am responsible for driving activity, revenue and success for both Paycom and myself and additionally, ensuring that I represent the Paycom brand in a positive and professional manner to further Paycom’s footprint. My day-to-day activities are focused on four key actions: prospect, profile, create new opportunities and network.

What advice would you give a new employee for being successful at Paycom?

I would recommend that you focus on what you can control, and everything else will happen as it is supposed to. More importantly, always remember that there is work to be completed, and it does not happen overnight, so do not doubt yourself. Instead, set daily goals to build a foundation for your own success. I was once told, “Watch your pennies and your dollars will do the work” – a simple concept that can be universally applied.

What’s the one word you would choose to describe Paycom, and why?

“Dynamic.” Paycom is constantly adapting through visionaries from the top down and bottom up. It’s a young company that has embraced millennials and their ideas, in which they execute both professionally and personally.

What is your greatest accomplishment at Paycom?

Personally, creating a new perspective on where I see myself in the future. Professionally, winning the executive award and being one of the top new reps in the nation.

What makes you proud to work at Paycom?

Knowing that I have an awesome team to go in to work with every day.

Where has been your favorite place to travel, and why?

My favorite place I have ever been was the Cayman Islands. My entire family and I celebrated our last living grandparent’s 80th birthday.
