Employee Spotlight: Meet Kelsey
Kelsey is a senior sales recruiter and has been a member of the Paycom family since January 2013. This week, I reached out and asked her to share her story.
Describe what you do.
As a sales recruiter, I partner with our sales managers and regional sales managers nationwide to recruit top talent for their teams.
Be the best sponge you can be! There are a lot of moving parts and it takes time to learn everything. Ask good questions, and take the time to learn Paycom and the position. Also, make sure to build great relationships with the people around you. That will help set you up for success!
What’s the one word you would choose to describe Paycom, and why?
Evolving! Paycom constantly is growing which means things constantly are progressing, including our processes, products and positions. That’s exciting if you are looking to be a part of a fast-paced and rewarding environment!
What is your greatest accomplishment at Paycom?
I recently have hit a big milestone at Paycom. I have had a hand in changing more than 100 lives by offering talented professionals the opportunity to be a part of our world-class sales force. A couple of those individuals have moved into management roles. Nothing is more rewarding than hearing from reps – who I have placed – about how this opportunity truly has changed their lives.
What makes you proud to work at Paycom?
I LOVE working at Paycom. My husband always jokes that I’m one of those crazy people who loves their job! I know not everyone can say that, but I feel very fortunate that I can. The people at Paycom make coming to work fun as well as a healthy challenge. No one is going to allow you to become stagnant.
My favorite place to travel is a toss-up between the San Francisco Bay area and St. Lucia. My husband and I love to travel. We go to San Francisco about twice a year to explore the city and of course visit Napa. We went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon, and I love taking trips to the beach to recharge.
What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of work?
I love spending time with friends and family and trying new restaurants. We also enjoy spoiling our two beautiful dogs, who both happen to be named Layla.
If you could pick anyone in the world to have lunch with, who would it be and why?
Ellen DeGeneres! I think the world could use more of her positive and light-hearted attitude. We share a love for humor and pranks. I think our lunch would be more than entertaining.
